Working processes

  1. Creative writing plans and notes

I have chosen to write a memoir since it is written from my point of view. I find memoir a very powerful form of writing as it can reflect a lot on the writer’s perspective.

I have narrowed my focus to a few themes and activities I love to talk about in the writing. Such as talking about Christmas markets, cafes and the activities that I enjoy doing on a daily basis. I have aimed to use a lot of imagery so the reader is able to see what I write and it will enhance their understanding of my Southwark.

I based my memoir purely on the things I witness or actions that make me think, feel or see in a way. I aim that my memoir will describe all the body senses which are touch, sight, hearing, smell and taste

2. Web design / Wireframe

I wanted my website to be very minimalistic and clean. With a lot of visuals since too much text could potentially distract the viewer from the main aesthetic or the points I have talking about.

The colour and Pantone of the website was light creme and light green which contrasts with the black writings. I wanted my website to be clear and easy to read as I find it more aesthetically pleasing.

Overall

What I have learnt

  • I feel like I have more understanding of how to use wireframe and I am capable of creating my own website or other form of site.
  • Using the sound room was a fun experience as I get to explore how to use the tool given to me.
  • Creative writing has help me further develop my vocabulary skills and how to write from many perspectives.

What I could develop

  • Figuring out how to use Myblog/Word press was a challenge and it took me a while to get use to it. I should practice how to use the tools and functions it has to offer in order to improve my website.
  • I should also use editing apps specifically for audio and how I can make use of the sound room.
